18071 18-71 MS-71

CHAPTER 18, PATH OF LIBERATION AND RENUNCIATION, MOKSHA SANYASA YOGA, VERSE 71 ( MSY 71 )


GIST
If a sincere and envy-free person listens to this, he will be delivered (of sins). He will attain auspicious worlds of the Virtuous.

This is a promise made by Krishna to Arjuna.

INTERPRETATION, DEDUCTIONS
Promising heavens, cleansing of sins is a common characteristic of religious books of any religion. Just by listening sacred scriptures sin can never be washed away. It is the implementation of the teachings which will be materials.

1. There is a traditional belief in Hindu religious teachings: A person has to enjoy the fruits of his virtuous deeds and receive punishments for his sins separately. There is no concept of NETTING OUT OF COUNTER-CLAIMS OF HEAVEN AGAINST HELL. Hence where is the question of washing out of sins?
