18070 VERSE 18-70 MS 70

CHAPTER 18, PATH OF LIBERATION AND RENUNCIATION, MOKSHA SANYASA YOGA, MSY 70

GIST
Whoever studies this conversation of the righteousness, will be performing a "Sacrifice of (through the path of) Knowledge" and he will worship me through it.

INTERPRETATION
The phrase "Sacrifice of Knowledge", used here means worshipping of Krishna through the path of Knowledge.

COMMENT
Ritualistic sacrifices of yore involved sacrificing of animals such as horses, cattle. Fortunately, this sacrifice does not involve anything ghastly and violent.

GLOSSARY
SACRIFICE : Yagnam, in Sanskrit. It is a mode of worship. Earliest Vedic sacrifices used to be by offering "animals" to God.

Adhyeeshyatee ca ya
imam dharmyam samvaadam aavayooho
gnaana yagneena teena
aham isht`a: syaam iti mee matihi.
