CHAPTER 18,

GIST

Equipped with a clean and pure intellect, controlled by courage, having relinquished interest in objects like sound, having abandoned love and hate (continued in verse 52)

This list of qualities, Gita says, will lead to a 'State of Renunciation (Vairaagya)'.
Total abandonment of love and hate is not possible to anybody, including Krishna.

Gadaan viikshya shayaanan cha bhrisham kopasamanvitaha
sa nihsheeshaan tadaa chakree shaarnga chakra gadaadharaha. 44

HOW KRISHNA REACTED IN MAHABHAGAVATA, THE SAME SITUATION OF SLAYING OF S`AAMBA, JAMBAVATI'S SON

The entire Chapter 39 shows the Yadava infighting with "pezzles" as curse by Priests and the Delusion created by Krishna.

Pratyaniikam manyamaanaa
Balabhadram ca mohitaaha
hantum krita-dhiiyo Raajan
Aapannaa aatataayinaha. (11-30-22)

Atha taav api sankruddhaav
udyamya Kuru-nandana
erakaa-must`hi-parighau
carantau jaghnatur yudhi. (11-30-23).


Here Vyasa says that the Yaadavas attacked Balarama. Then Krishna and Balarama reacted violently taking canes into their fists, and clubs, they began to kill.

Though Mahabharata and Mahabhagavata are believed to be the work of same Vyaasa, Bhagavata is more open in portraying Krishna as God.
